Chapter 22 - Types of Bleeding

External bleeding can be easily identified by seeing blood. External bleeding can be classified as arterial bleeding (spurting), venous bleeding (gushing), or capillary (oozing). Capillary bleeding is the most common type of bleeding and often corrects itself without assistance. Internal bleeding occurs when skin is not broken and blood is not seen.
