Chapter 28 - Stroke
A stroke occurs when there is a disruption of blood supply to the brain. This can be caused by a blocked or ruptured blood vessel in the brain. Stroke is a leading cause of death and serious disability.
Two Types of Stroke:
Blocked Vessel: Blood vessel blockage in the brain leads to stroke. See left.
Ruptured Vessel: Bleeding in the brain leads to stroke. See right.
